Interior Design- Ancient Civilzation
ANCIENT CIVILIZATION
Mesopotamia, Egypt, Old Kingdom, Middle Kingdom,
Neo-Assyrian Empire, Twenty-Fifth Dynasty
1. WEEKLY LEARNING AND INSPIRATION
When I studied the ancient world, I realized that they produced amazing things, including:
interesting cultures, artifacts, and architecture. I was surprised to find out about the ways early civilization
contributed to mathematics, technology, and literature. I discovered the Nile River was key
to these contributions. My study revealed the palaces , sculptures, and reliefs of Mesopotamia.
I knew about Egyptian pyramids, but didn't realize how even this wonder of the world
was reliant on the Nile, tying it to the rest of ancient Eastern natural life. And amongst
all the architecture, Nubia offers beautiful pottery!

Reconceptualizing
Hassan Fathy
Hassan Fathy was an Egyptian architect who partnered with technology with the building of Egypt.
He adopted mud construction rather than western building configurations.

3. WEEKLY RELECTION
This week I learned about the ancient world and the scared and wonderous Middle
East civilizations! Not only did these civilizations produce astonishing monuments, but also
technological advancements such as astrology, mathematics and writing. These
wondrous regions all relied on the Nile river. Mesopotamia presented magnificent palaces,
sculptures , and reliefs. Egypt omits an ancient experience with the remaining pyramids
as well as a natural experience with how much it is heavily dependent on the Nile River. And amongst
all the architecture , Nubia offers beautiful pottery!

Sammie, I loved your picture choices for this week. They really showcase the information we learned and different designs from the culture. The reconceptualizing section was really interesting. It's so cool to see how designs from these ancient civilizations influence our design choices today! Great job!
ReplyDeleteSammie, I really enjoyed reading your paper! You did a great job explaining how ancient civilizations used architecture, art, and natural materials to shape their environments. I especially liked your section on Hassan Fathy and how you connected traditional Egyptian building methods to modern design. Your closing reflection also did a great job showing how ancient design can still inspire designers today. Overall, your paper was creative, informative, and visually interesting.
ReplyDeleteSammie,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your post this week. The images you gathered for the three ancient civilizations were lovely. I also enjoyed hearing about what you learned from this study. The advances that these cultures made were significant. Focusing on Hassan Fathy was a great deep dive. 50/50 points
